Four fields and a tick. The domain is what the free dark web scan runs against, and it runs before anybody visits, so the audit starts with the findings already in hand.

The part your email addresses end in. It is all the scan needs, and we install nothing.

What happens to what you send

  • What you get. A written report listing every exposed credential and record we found with its source and date, a severity rating against each, which accounts are still active that should not be, and a prioritised list of what to do first. It now includes a review of your Microsoft 365 tenant. You keep it whether you work with us or not, and it is written so another provider could act on it.
  • What we need, and why. Your name, your company, a work email address and your company domain. The domain is what the scan searches against; the rest is so a person can send you the report and arrange the audit. A telephone number and company size are optional and only help us prepare.
  • What the scan does not need. The dark web scan needs no access to your systems, no software installed, no agent on any device, and no passwords. If anybody asks you for those to run a free scan, that is the finding. The audit is a different thing: it is carried out on site, with your people present and with access agreed beforehand.
  • Your consent under POPIA. Ticking the box is your consent for us to process those details for three purposes: arranging the audit, running the scan and delivering the report. It does not put you on a mailing list, and we do not sell or share your details with anybody else.
  • How long we keep it. We keep your enquiry and the report only as long as we need them to deliver and discuss the findings and to meet our own record keeping obligations, then we delete them. You may ask us to delete them sooner at any time.
  • Enquiries reach info@lantekcomputers.com, a monitored role inbox rather than an individual. Our privacy policy sets out your rights in full, and the Information Officer page has the contact details for exercising them.
